I have a PhD in Theological Studies/Church History from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (TEDS), and I specialize in American church history, Jonathan Edwards, and the history of biblical interpretation. I have taught as an adjunct professor for Trinity International University, Trinity Christian College, and Arrowhead Bible College. I currently serve as an editor at Crossway, a nonprofit Christian ministry that exists to proclaim the gospel through publishing.

Previously I served as the Research Fellow for Christ on Campus Initiative (2012–2015), the Senior Fellow and Book Review Editor for the Jonathan Edwards Center at TEDS (2011–2012) and as a Department Fellow for the Department of Church History and the History of Christian Thought at TEDS (2007–2009). I currently live in the suburbs of Chicago with my wife, Allison, and our four (energetic) children.
